Windows 7 Experts, Ensyst, Give Update On Real World Trials Of Microsoft’s New Operating System

[SYDNEY, NSW], [AUSTRALIA] — July 10, 2009 —Ensyst, a leading IT solutions and services provider and current Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year award winner, has provided an update on its real-world experiences with Windows 7 as part of the official Microsoft Windows 7 Technology Adopter Program (TAP)

The invitation-only TAP has partnered 3 leading Australian IT service providers with large customers looking to implement sizeable Windows 7 pilot environments in their organisation and is a vital part of Microsoft’s pre-release strategy.

This means Ensyst is one of only three companies in Australia who will do official training and testing of the system, inside real companies, before the final release date.

Of those three participants Ensyst is uniquely positioned to give feedback on Windows 7 as it was the only Australian TAP participant to send technical staff to the first official Windows 7 training sessions in Singapore in May.

In addition to the Windows 7 TAP, Ensyst is also doing extensive piloting of the operating system in many of its existing clients ensuring that it is, and will be post-launch, the most skilled and experienced Windows 7 integrator in Australia.

Ensyst General Manager, Nick Sone, gave this update on Ensyst’s experiences with Windows 7 inside real organisations:

“Windows 7 is proving to be everything that was promised by Microsoft. It’s fast, stable and an improvement on Microsoft’s previous operating systems. On top of this, key new technologies like:

• Search Federation;
• Direct Access;
• Branch Cache;
• App Locker; and
• The new desktop virtualization tools

are all demonstrating the increased productivity, enhanced security and control and potential for cost savings that Microsoft promised from Windows 7.”

Sone went on to add:

“We may still be using RC1 but we’ve been amazed by how good the product is, as have the organisations we’ve been working with. When the final version of Windows 7 is released later on this year it will be a turning point for Microsoft and information workers around the world.”
